SynerGenius Telepresence offers comprehensive, individualized recommendations to help busy women overcome their mental health struggles and get their lives back. Best of all, these services are offered in the comfort of your own home.
We support you in breaking free of your symptoms so that you can have choices again, rather than making life decisions based on fear or exhaustion. We empower you to own your recovery. Dr. Heermann is an expert in women’s mental health, and is highly trained in integrative mental health, which combines both conventional and alternative therapies into a holistic, individualized treatment approach for emotional challenges. She has extensive training in a variety of natural approaches, including the advanced nutrient therapies taught by the Walsh Research Institute, and the effective use of multi-nutrient formulas, such as those offered by Truehope and others.
While she specializes in women’s mental health, Dr. Heermann welcomes patients of any gender or gender expression.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you provide services?
We offer services to patients in the states of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Nebraska. If you live outside these states, you can access our Referral Guide here to help locate a mental health provider near you.
What is a consultation model?
At SynerGenius Telepresence, our services are exclusively offered through a consultation model, and. This means we meet with you one-on-one, and then consult with you and your primary physician or other provider to offer treatment recommendations. The consultation model was chosen to ensure our services are accessible to the widest variety of people possible, while also improving the coordination and continuity of your care. It also allows us to focus on Dr. Heermann’s unique expertise in helping people access their own healing power through integrative medicine.
In a non-consultation model, your primary psychiatrist is responsible for managing your full mental health treatment plan, including any needed medication management or prescriptions, any after-hours or crisis care, and other needed mental health services. The major difference between our consultation practice and other psychiatrists you may have seen in the past is that we will not be serving as your primary psychiatrist.
Instead, Dr. Heermann serves as the integrative psychiatry consultant on your health care team. This means she would be a consultant in the specialty of integrative psychiatry to help advise your primary care physician or other provider. She is also happy to advise your psychiatrist or other primary psychiatric provider in this specialty area, as desired. Dr. Heermann’s focus is on providing expertise in integrative medicine, including nutrition, herbs, lifestyle, and mind-body treatments, and helping your primary provider to optimize your overall treatment to incorporate the integrative medicine perspective.
In other words, rather than providing psychiatric medication prescriptions myself, Dr. Heermann will instead provide recommendations to your primary care physician or other provider, who would be responsible for implementing any indicated treatment recommendations, as well as writing and refilling any needed medication prescriptions. Your primary care physician or other provider would also be responsible for providing after-hours, vacation, and crisis management services for you, if those become necessary.
How does the consultation model work?
In order to arrange services under this consultation model, you will first need to establish care with a local primary care physician or other provider (or psychiatrist/psychiatric provider) who is in agreement with your plan to approach your care through an integrative model, and who is also willing to provide medication prescriptions and crisis services, as needed.
In order to approve your appointment request, first we need a completed copy of the consultation request form, signed by your doctor - located here:
SynerGenius Consult Request Form
We have also created a letter of introduction, for those of you whose primary care physician or other provider has not yet met me or had contact with our office - located here:
SynerGenius Consult Introduction Letter
We are hopeful that this will help reassure your provider regarding our approach and address any questions they may have about this process. We are also very happy to answer their questions directly, as needed. Please invite them to call the office at 720-515-1315 or drop us an email us at the address listed on our Contact page.
We also need a signed release-of-information form from you for your primary care physician or other provider - located here:
SynerGenius Information Release Authorization Form
Please download these forms, print, and have your sign provider sign, sign your release, and then return both forms. You can send the forms by uploading to the patient portal, by faxing to 720-528-7755, or you can scan and send by email to the address listed on our Contact page.
Do you provide medication management services?
While we are happy to offer advice and guidance to your primary care physician or other primary care provider on how to optimally manage your psychiatric medications, under our consultation model, the actual prescriptions will need to be written by your primary provider.
We are also happy to support patients who have opted not to take psychiatric medications at this time.
How much does it cost?
We charge $600 for initial visits, and $150 for follow-up visits. Payment plans may be available upon request, depending on your circumstances.
Dr. Heermann also offers a special Welcome Package, where you can purchase your first three visits all at once when booking your initial appointment for only $750. That's $150 less than the normal price for those services, which is like getting one of your follow up visits free! It is really important to her that integrative mental health services are accessible to everyone who needs this, and it is our hope that this package will make our services affordable for you. Follow up visits after the initial three will be billed at our usual rate, above.
A limited number of sliding scale slots are also available for those in serious financial need.
Does insurance cover my visit?
We are committed to providing affordable services to our patients, and have kept our prices unchanged for many years, along with offering package discounts and an extensive sliding scale program. It is our hope that integrative care can be affordable for all patients who need it.
We are not under contract with any insurance companies or Medicaid programs. This means you are in charge of your treatment, not the insurance company, and allows your care to be based on your unique needs.
We will provide you with a "superbill" after each visit - an itemized statement which you can file with your insurance company for "out of network" reimbursement using a claim form. However, depending on your insurance coverage, the consultation codes used for this service may be reimbursed differently than standard "evaluation and management" codes used in primary psychiatric care.
Please note that the billing codes used for these integrative psychiatry consultation services (specifically Z-codes like Z00.4 [general psychiatric examination, not elsewhere classified]) are usually NOT covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
Fortunately, depending on the details of your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA), these services should be eligible for reimbursement through these programs. Please contact your insurance company and/or FSA/HSA to verify coverage.
What is Telepresence?
All of our services at SynerGenius are provided via video meeting. Telepresence uses state-of-the-art videoconference technology to allow face-to-face contact over any distance.
Dr. Heermann grew up in rural Nebraska, which gave her an appreciation for the remoteness of rural areas and how rural areas can limit accessibility to health care. She is passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to the best integrative mental health services, regardless of whether they live in a big city or a small town.
Video care is not only convenient; it also ensures your privacy, by providing all services in the comfort of your own home.
The technology is secure and easy to navigate. All you need is internet access and a web cam.

How is Telepresence different from in-person care?
In most of the important ways, it is exactly the same! The research is clear that telemedicine provides similar, and sometimes better, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
There are a few small differences, however.
Because of the unique nature of telemedicine practice, we require both that all our patients have an ongoing relationship with a local primary care physician or other provider, and also that they authorize us to collaborate with that provider in their care. We believe in the importance of a truly whole-person approach to health care, and making sure you have ongoing primary care is in line with that philosophy. It's important to have someone nearby that you can see if any general medical issues come up, and who is familiar with the resources in your local community.
Also, because of the laws surrounding telemedicine, you are not able to receive a prescription for any controlled substances if we have never met in-person. This includes sedatives in the benzodiazepine class (such as Ativan, Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin), often used for anxiety or sleep, and also includes stimulants (such as Ritalin, Adderall, and others), often used for ADHD.
Finally, due to the unique nature of our practice, which is a solo-physician clinic spanning mulitple states, we do not provide after-hours, vacation, or crisis coverage. These services are the responsibility of your primary care physician or other provider and/or your primary psychiatrist or psychiatric provider.
How can I get help for a loved one?
We often hear from parents or other family members who would like to get help for someone they love who is struggling with mental illness. At SynerGenius Telepresence, we understand that, for parents, there is nothing worse than seeing our children in pain, no matter how old they are. We also understand and carefully navigate the delicate balance between family inclusion and patient trust.
We have prepared a brief document that shares some valuable resources for parents and other family members looking to support their loved one, as well as our policies at SynerGenius that help our collaborations with patients and family members to be successful. Please click here for more information.
Can you tell me more about the advanced nutrient therapies developed by the Walsh Research Institute?
If you would like more information on common biochemical imbalances we are screening for, as well as some information on the Walsh Research Institute, where I completed my training in their treatments, please Click Here.
I am a health care professional. Do you offer information or support for starting my own telemedicine private practice?
Yes! Dr. Heermann is excited to offer advice and support to health care professionals who are interested in starting their own telepsychiatry private practice. Click Here to learn more about her telepsychiatry private practice consulting services.
